ULTRANAV
An expanding number of applications serving different communities have been taking advantage of positioning and navigation instrumentation. Together with the growth of its applicability is also the demand for ever-increasing levels of accuracy, availability and reliability.

Several hybridization techniques for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS, like GPS and Galileo) and the Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) have been under study for more than a decade, aiming at the combination of the advantages of each system and the attenuation of their disadvantages.

With the UltraNav project, supported by QREN, DEIMOS Engenharia is investigating and testing an advanced GNSS-INS hybridization technique: the Ultra-Tight Coupling, which will increase the accuracy and precision of the hybrid system to a higher level than that possible with either one of the systems working independently (increasing, at the same time the availability and reliability of the navigation solution) and/or drastically reduce its cost.
